Wellbeing Garden Open Day postponed

Tomorrow should have seen the Wellbeing Garden (Heritage Cafe Garden) open at Samlesbury Hall.

Unfortunately, the British weather is not so good for British blooms! The forecast of torrential downpours meant that a decision was taken on Thursday to postpone the event. It's incredibly disappointing for all concerned, but it makes perfect sense to plan again for another day, when the unpredictable weather can be properly part of any contingency planning.

For me, this meant cancelling an order for British flowers, but half of my seasonal blooms had already landed on my doorstep. Thankfully, last minute customer orders meant that the loss suffered was not too great,

It was good to see the purple Campanula looking so good, with white Scabious, and gorgeous Rose Lilies, alongside lavender perennial Phlox. All the seasonal favourites made lovely garden styled bouquets. A bumper birthday bouquet also held Hydrangeas, blue Iris, and two types of Eucalyptus.

Currently awaiting a new date for the Wellbeing project, in the hope that there will still be seasonal British flowers if it's not too late in the year.

I'll post more when there's a new date for our Wellbeing Garden Open Day. For now, stay safe and well.
