How is it almost mid January already?!
This mild winter (so far) is making me want to move fast forward to Spring, but we must be patient. I can see there are stirrings in the garden; bulbs planted last year are starting to show, and there is a hint of fresh green tips to most flowering shrubs already.
From the start of Spring, there will once more be seasonal flowers. Tulips, Ranuculus, Narcissi and Sweet William are some of my favourites. The Butterfly Ranuculus, shown in the image, is a marvel; a beautiful shade of the softest pink. I can barely wait.
I have plans this year to hold more seasonal flower workshops at Samlesbury Hall. Watch out as we head towards Mothers Day and beyond. I'll also have monthly POP UP sales at the Hall from the beginning of March where you can come along and buy flowers on the first Sunday of every month when British flowers are in season.
It will be wonderful to feel the warmth of the sun, and smell the scent of the flowers; both so up-lifting. Mindfully, just what we need to fill our hearts and minds with joy.
See you there
